Moore on the XBox 360
For those of you who don’t follow the gaming “scene” (which includes me, more on that later) 1up interviewed Peter Moore who heads up the XBox 360 effort over at Microsoft. What transpired was a pretty hard nosed interview which finally shows the XBox as something other than the one and only console of the future.
Essentially, they asked some hard questions, got the usual bright eyed answers, and showed the answers to not exactly align with reality. While the XBox 360 does have a few better than average titles, they’re only a few. My favorite quote?
“Where people are really excited is the online experience, the Marketplace experience, Xbox Live Arcade…”
Because what always excites me in a console is the Marketplace experience. Sometimes I really wonder if exec’s get out enough to competently oversee their jobs.
Thanks to the guys at Penny Arcade for pointing 1up’s interview out. They’re usually how I keep up with what’s interesting in console and Window’s games. I’m generally caught up playing and reviewing Linux games and kit myself.
