Once again a grandoise reference to “Music Sales” fails to address exactly what the statistics being used are comprised of. Generally, when people talk about music sales being down they’re speaking of shipments from (RIAA Members only?) big label warehouses. We’re not talking what actually sold at the store, which is what services like SoundScan and now Streetpulse track.

So.. it’s pretty much a useless statement. It’s great to take the stuff spit out by the recording industry saying that sales are down. But without anything to actually qualify what they’re tracking, that’s a useless statement. Do some digging and write an article once you’ve figured out exactly what the verbatim quotes mean.
