.. and he thinks the US .gov isn’t “tech” enough. Apparently it should be more like e-bay and have/do loads of crap you don’t want rather than the old five and dime model (which haven’t existed in this millenium.. the reference is a little dated) of having all the things you need, rather than everything you might want.
Also, the Pentagon needs to operate 24 hours a day, rather than the normal 9 because “… terrorists and such like hate the States 24/7, the Pentagon’s PR office only works nine to five.”. I’m assuming that’s close to what he said, because even El Reg can’t come up with lines like that. Apparently having our brigade of Yes Men and Pencil Pushers will drive back the evil, evil (fill in current enemy of state). The Russians maybe? Or was that last years bogey man?
Anyway, I get the idea he’s buttering us up to open our wallet so they can get some new toys.
