Apparently even Germany is getting in on the act of complaining that Telcos don’t make enough money.  The German telephone co  Deutsche Telekom believes it can extract more money by working both sides of the line and making everyone pay for what’s transfered over lines as well as access to those lines.

Basically, these asshats want to erect more toll bariers to transfering data instead of simply charging for usage on both ends of the line.  Google already pays for the bandwith they use, but the Telcos smell profits that aren’t going solely to them, and want more.

So they don’t want to provide what we users are paying for.  They would like to additionaly charge everyone for every link of the path rather than simply charging for the bandwith being used.  Basically because they’re a greedy bunch and think they can ram legislation down the legal pathways without anyone being the wiser.
