Now, we all know what happens when politicos get involved in something.  They tend to foul it up.  Not that that’s always a bad thing, some things need to be fouled up.  Like corporate malfescence.

However, I’ve been a strong supporter of not letting them anywhere near the gaming and entertainment industries.  It can brook no good.

I’m thinking we’d be left with an infinate variety of Mario Brothers clones after they’re done, maybe without the mallet because it promotes violence.  And no fireballs.  Also, no flying… kids with bedsheets everywhere are dyeing emulating their favorite character.  You get the idea.

So here we have a industry sponsored effort to throw some retaliation against Big Brother stipulating what you can and cannot buy.

I’ve never appreciated their implication that parents are incredibly stupid people in general.  You know what your kids are buying.   Here’s a chance to tell them that you can take care of your own and don’t need the .gov to force more regulation on the industry.

For the rest of us, well, I don’t think anyone feels the pressing need to be more heavily regulated.  Never a good thing.
