One of the boys from Redmond is attempting to school Apple on security breaches in OS X and how they respond.

He’s under the impression that Microsoft has a stirling reputation for quick response to security threats.  And here I thought their standard method was to ignore them entirely unless they had a fix on hand.

If I recall, on one of the recent security problems with their vaunted Windows operating system they weren’t even going to release a fix until their monthly release cycle.  Unfortunately people’s machines were getting trojaned (or wormed, I don’t recall) at a prodigous rate and they were forced to release it earlier.

It’s great security measures like that that crowd pleaser Apple should be emulating?

The hive drone in question also made some remarks about the need for a security Czar.  Personally, i think we should leave Czars in the Russian history books and focus on getting coders to make clean, durable code with timely fixes.
