Before you get any trans-gendered ideas here (or at least images of chicks in school uniforms) running through your head, hear me out.
As some of you may know Wired has had a Japanese schoolgirl watch for the past few years. While the schoolgirls over in Tokyo may not always be onto something terribly cool, it’s always interesting.
After reading a report in one of the large pseudo carbon based websites (read as: magazines in a digital form) about people who are “on broadband 4 or 5 times a day” I realize that some of us may be the next new thing. People that aren’t ever off broadband, one way or another.
I’m not sure how many people out there have broadband phones or work on a constant connection but I’m sure that for folks reading this column and others like it that’s a pretty high percentage.
I was thinking while reading it that 4 to 5 times a day sounded a bit weird.. why would you bring the connection down? Then I realized they meant that they were using a computer that many times a day, maybe.
So yea, we’re the new Japanes School Girls! There’s gotta be a band name in there somewhere.
