Appears that Microsoft believes it’s the paragon of virtue.  And that in not complying with the EU antitrust ruleing at all, it’s gone “far beyond” the remedies required…  without actually meeting them.

All that “code is good” flak coming from the OSS crowd (not the free software crowd, mind) appeares to be clouding their judgement.   From what I recall their “solution” to the situation was to release some form of source code insead of the requested protocol documentation.  Not the same thing, guys.

Anyway, the boys from Redmond were trading barbs with the EC attorneys on the way into court, loudly claiming their rightousness.  Odd how the guilty tend to yell the loudest.
