Always on the lookout for new technology to use in software reviews I came across vncrec. What this software does is create a capture file of your VNC session for later playback. Coincidentally, this can be used to create motion screen captures of whatever it is you’re working on.

While it’s not going to help out with my current work because of the sheer size of the files created, it can make quite a handy training video or explanatory demo. Other nifty utilities are available to convert vnc files over to gif, swf, mpeg, or any one of a handful of the relevant formats.
