Looks like Microsoft has secured another registrar to park domains on Windows Server because it (er…) provides the stability and scalability required.  No one parks domains like Microsoft, apparently.

In a way these registrars changing to Windows makes perfect sense.  These sites in particular have no real “value” and there is no BSD or Linux interest in keeping them pent up on the Apache platform.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has huge incentive to artificially bump up it’s server numbers quickly.  This makes it appear as if Windows is growing in the server market steadily and they certainly have the money to “incentivize” GoDaddy with discounts on their next license upgrade.
