Not only that, but they’re planning on making them in a coatable form.  Imagine painting them on the roof and shingles and you’ve got the right idea.  Just build them into the material you use to put your roof/siding together and away you go.

No word on how environmentally harmful the replacement process for the now-dated but still currently used silicon fabrication will be.  Mention of indium, germanium, and selenium in the article raises a flag in my mind.

We’ll have to wait and see what the deal is there (environment wise) when more information is available.  And hopefully, when prototypes are out and about.  This isn’t the first new solar tech to be trumpetted from the rooftops.
