Looks like everyone’s favorite software evangelist is going to keynote at 2600’s hope this year.  I might’ve worked on the networking over there (still might) but haven’t actually gotten any notification that the event’s occuring!  Odd how that works after volunteering last year.  I figured someone might at least blast out a mail on the old mailing list.

At any rate I’d probably be more inclined to head down early and help with setup than go down and babysit the network.  Weirdest thing is, at a hacker convention no one tries to do anything interesting for the attendees network wise. No competitions, etc.

Although I’m thinking of grabbing a hefty rack of servers and running some gaming competitions in the name of PCBurn.  I’ll have to see what Mr. Magfest is up to and if he’d like to rig something along those lines. As he runs a gaming convention (Magfest) he’s probably got a better handle on the whole deali-o than yours truly.  I only play the games and occasionaly review them.  Running a competition with 40 howling players is a whole different deal, I’m told.

Plus that’ll give me the opportunity to get a horde of people over to play some games and “test” out both the software and it’s Linux servers.  Which is always a blast.
