Wandering around St. Marks Place down in the city I happened across an old standard and one new place to eat.

Crepe Creations is more over near Washington Park, but it’s definately worth the trek out if you’re at all into crepes.  They do both whole wheat and standard, with an amazing array of toppings for breakfast, dinner, and dessert.  I went for the avocado, turkey, swiss, and pepper Blazing Saddles.  Good stuff.

Dumpling Man, which we stummbled over by accident and were told we had to try by a woman walking away with some dumplings, has amazing dumplings.  This is *all* they do, hand roll dumplings of 6 or so varieties and sell them in single/6/10 packs.  They’ve got pork, beef, vegetarian, etc. and even a pumpkin dessert dumpling that was excellent.  Also, they prepare the dumplings behind a glass partition right in the shop (and I mean roll them by hand, not just cook) so you know this stuff’s fresh.  And their mascot (featured on the website) is incredibly cute.

So if you’re in the city for some reason give one of these shops  a shot.  You won’t be dissapointed.
