Gone Gaming (On Linux)
So there are a few new games over at Tux Games. Northland is from the Runesoft and X2: The Threat was published by Linux Game Publishing.
And we’re finally getting them in to review over at PCBurn! Normally I don’t bother with the Linux releases because they’re so delayed from their Windows brethren.
Breaking that thought for a moment, this is true with the notable exceptions of the people over at Introversion Software and Illwinter Games both of whom publish small-release games and do so on all platforms simultaneously. Introversion publishes what I consider mindwarping titles (and excellent ones at that) for which they’ve won numerous gaming industry awards. Illwinter publishes titles that excell with actual gameplay mechanics and less emphasis on display. Both make some truly awesome games, and you really aught to check them out.
Expect the titles to be on review soon, and thanks go out to my brother for picking up a couple copies for us to take a look at! Also, Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood should be on the chopping block as there’s a copy of that available for me to take a look at now as well.
And hey, publishers. We write reviews of games over at PCBurn: Linux Gaming and Hardware Reviews. I know the site’s title doesn’t really give it away, but trust me. You might get confused by the “Kernel 2.6.13.2 Released” note and not know who Greg KH is. That’s OK, we’ll still review your software.
