Nicholas Negroponte was previewing a working model of the 100$(USD) laptop for every child laptop.  Apparently it stole the MITX spotlight.. but with a feature rich laptop coming in at 100$, you can probably imagine why.

Now… why they can’t crank these puppies out mass-production style and use the sales to subsidize the cost on the cheaper models is beyond me.  At 100$ with a decent feature set it blows the heck out of most of the small form factor palm-ish devices out there.  Heck, you could sell them for 150$ and they’d be less than an equivelent used laptop but with a better built in feature set.
