Whichever senate sub comittee this article concerns is filled with easily led fools. They appear to be under the same disconnect from reality that occurs in think tanks sponsored by large corporations.
Not only are they not aware in this hearing as to what they’re discussing, they blatently lie about the Rockstars GTA and it’s “hot coffee” content, stating that it was part of the shipped game rather than unintentionally included content.
Lets not even get into how they could confuse “woman being raped in video game” (what they thought happened) with “non-graphic consensual sex scene” (what actually was included). On top of this idiocy they don’t appear to comprehend that you needed to edit the program with a bit level editor to get at the content. It was accidentally left on the disk, not in the game.
Oh. And the scene in question would’ve earned a unremarkable PG-13 in theaters, I’m sure.
These are the people making media decisions for us. Now, dear reader, you might understand why I’m against any government regulation of media?
