Looks like inovative revenue sharing methods are starting to pop up. Lulu.tv is doing the “post your media online” model ala youtube, but offering up 80% of the revenue to the providers of the content.
Here’s how it works.
You put your video up on Lulu.tv and then it goes into circulation. All of the revenue generated by ads goes into a pool. Lulu.tv chops off 20% for expenses and the rest gets divied up on a how-many-times-it-was-viewed basis between the providers.
No clue how it will work out, but that sure sounds fair. More so than providing your content for someone else to profit from for free!
