Looks like the folks of the US are finally wising up to fuel efficiency.
Of course, prices upwards of 3$/Gal. at the pump are probably a contributing factor. Nothing hurts like an empty wallet.
At any rate, Toyota got the jump on Ford, bumping the Japanese based auto maker (that builds cars in America, go figure) up to number two in the American market.
Could it have something to do with those 40mpg fuel efficiency numbers? I think it just might…
Maybe Ford needs to move up past that 30mpg marker they’ve been languishing at. Less bloated SUVs, more fuel efficient compacts. Unless you’ve forgotten how to make them, that is.
