Looks like the .gov no longer needs anything as nasty as “proof” to monitor random e-mails. From what I can tell they just promised not to peak at the contents of the e-mail itself, just the headers, and were allowed to under teh Patriot Act.
Good thing they’re so Patriotic. Otherwise I’d suspect they already snagged […]

Since I can’t post a direct link to this stuff, as the EFF doesn’t believe in segmenting out it’s new stories for linking, I’ll post up the header paragraph.
What’s going on here is that Google wants to abstract all of your files onto their server, where they won’t have much legal protection from government snoops, […]
While it’s been proven in US courts that it’s not illegal to sell trade marked keywords (as long as they don’t appear in the advertisement) someone’s taking a wack at google again over it.
Seems to me they should just throw in the towel and save on the lawyer fees. I mean, c’mon, Happy Birthday ™ […]
A’ight, so the word Phlog was recently coined. Here’s the definition. “Phlog: A blog whose specific purpose is to sell you something, directly or indirectly. See: Flog”

So I’m not quite sure what to make of the recent cartoon’s lampooning Mohammed and the hubub surrounding them. While it’s in poor taste to poke fun at religious taboos, it’s also shocking to see muslim’s respond to a poke that they’re violent with.. well.. extreme violence.

Journalists seem to already be backing off the Google cheerleading. While that’s not going to signal their demise (or at least curtailed growth) the fundamentals behind the company might.
Loads of intelligent people really don’t pay off unless you can apply them at some problems that will end in the creation of capital. Which is what […]
Allright, so here’s how this one goes down. There’s “brand managment” companies out there, like AEG that essentially set up shills in online forums to convince you all that the next great wiz-bang product from Microsoft, nVidia, and co. are what you really need to buy. Give you that personal testimony as to the next […]
No CommentsHow do you make up for budget shortfalls without rescinding tax breaks for large corporate shareholders? Tax WiFi. That’s what the Bush regime is proposing, at any rate. Why bother running a fiscally sound government when you can come up with quick stopgap solutions to pump money out of new technology!

So what do you do when you run a charity for childrens hospitals and someone donates 20k for an appearence on your comic strip? Hit them up for a car. Wait, no, two cars.
Hehe, anyway, PA has now posted their strip featuring an extremely generous donor who I would assume is not, in fact, also […]
Will e-mail suddenly become more expensive. Not exactly. What’s going on here is that AOL and Yahoo have cooked up a scheme whereby they admit their filters suck. And then charge you for it.
Face it, if I’ve got subscribers that use their e-mail service and they suddenly start blocking the e-mail because my subscribers aren’t […]
