It seems that John Doe defendents are banding together to respond to the RIAA’s scattergun lawsuits. If enough people jointly file in defense it might be cost effective enough to actually fight the overly litigious recording industry.

So what’s got more geek chic than a top ten technology list? Why, a top ten technology list about watches!
Most of the time I avoid anything with the word “geek” attached to it like some kind of plague infested cockroach with a really bad disposition (the irony doesn’t escape me). These watches, however, are pretty […]
There’s nothing quite like deciding your peltier driven phased cooling kit just doesn’t have enough oomph anymore. That’s just what this guy over at MadShrimps did, so he decided to rip it apart and make a few modifications for efficiency.
With a little re-engineering his old kit was made new, and now it’s freezing even the […]
Appears that Microsoft believes it’s the paragon of virtue. And that in not complying with the EU antitrust ruleing at all, it’s gone “far beyond” the remedies required… without actually meeting them.
All that “code is good” flak coming from the OSS crowd (not the free software crowd, mind) appeares to be clouding their judgement. From […]
It seems that Google is hiring UI people now, too. At least I’d assume that’s why they’ve picked up the maintainer of Vim. Without getting into it too much Vim is an improvement over the old Vi (visual editor) for Unix, hence Vim short for Vi Improved.

PCBurn will be running interviews and photos from the show floor in addition to the running commentary on here. So look forward to lots of content from the […]
So I went over to Staples and picked up one of there shiny new on-sale Acer AL1716 LCD flat-panel monitors. They’re just now coming in the 8ms variety that I’ve been looking for.
And I’ve gotta say, for 200$ it’s a whole lot of monitor. And it complements the new PCBurn office (now that the desk […]
Looks like it’s an MS news day.
Along with the news that Vista is being delayed (which you’ve probably heard by now) Smarthouse has word that MS is planning a total rewrite.
What scares me here is the thought process on the restructuring. Down toward the bottom there’s a quote from one of the Microsoft head drones […]
While cruising around looking for newsworthy items to post on PCBurn I read through a few comments on the bottom of an article about Samsung and price fixing.
Now, this is a comment I’ve seen a few places. People claim, in the presence of all evidence to the contrary, that Microsoft doesn’t/didn’t engage in unsavory colluding […]
